The VWR126x is the second driver to be introduced in the new line of CSS Next Generation drivers. The driver employs a thermoformed, strand-oriented, polypropylene cone that is self dampening. XBL motor technology is present in this driver meaning you’ll get outstanding linearity and low distortion. A copper sleeve on the pole piece as well as aluminum shorting rings in the motor keep inductance low. The voice coil former is aluminum and promotes proper heat dissipation yielding higher power handling. The gorgeous cast basket not only looks good but also avoids ringing that plagues many stamped basket varieties.

CSS has introduced a new line of high end DIY drivers for the home and car audio markets. The LD25X is the first in this new series of drivers set to change the game for DIY enthusiasts. The silk dome diaphragm offers a smooth sound that’s accurate without sounding harsh. The low distortion XBL motor technology found in many of the other CSS drivers makes it’s first appearance in tweeter form. The tweeter is chambered and uses powerful neo magnets to keep the motor force high but also keep the mounting depth low (for you car audio guys). The faceplate is solid aluminum rather than plastic that many other tweeters are made from. This might seem trivial at first but in cabinet designs where the woofer (or woofers) and tweeter share an airspace, a weak flange is a point of failure with regards to getting a proper seal.
